In this new IDW “Kai-Sei Era” continuity, Godzilla and other Kaiju were awakened by a mysterious energy source called Kai-Sei in 1954. Decades later, humanity continues to face monster attacks. Japan adopts a strategy of co-existing with the Kaiju, which contrasts with the American G-Force, which is actively fighting them. The G-Force discovers a young boy named Jacen who possesses the power of Godzilla, raising questions about his potential role as either a savior or destroyer.
